Vernon Revite 30th AveCity staff are looking at ways to trim the budget for downtown Vernon revitalization after an unexpected cost increase. Infrastructure engineer Mark Dowhaniuk says spacing streetlights to match other areas, will increase the budget by about 200-thousand dollars. He says they'll know where that will come from once the tender price is finalized. "We would look at....There's a few items in the budget that we may remove from the budget," Dowhaniuk told city council. The two million dollar project will upgrade 30th Avenue from 33rd to 35th streets, similar to other blocks to the east.

An alternative, given a typical over run in Public undertakings, would be to just cancel the project!
