RDNO takes a break

by Richard Rolke - Vernon Morning Star posted Jun 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM
Politicians will get some extra time to relax during the summer. The Regional District of North Okanagan board meetings for July 6 and Aug. 3 have been cancelled. Rick Fairbairn, chairperson, admits the summer can be challenging for meetings. “Some people would like to schedule vacations but there is work to be done,” he said. And while the two meetings have been cancelled, they can be brought back if required. “There is always the ability to have a special meeting if there is a time sensitive issue,” said David Sewell, chief administrative officer. The regularly scheduled meetings for the summer are July 20 and Aug. 17.

Don Quixote Note:
Meeting pay for the 14 directors @$150/meeting = $2,100 x2 meetings cancelled  = $4,200 will be a taxpayer saving in the summer of 2016.  RDNO Directors will see no reduction in their monthly stipend . Mr.  Rolke will have 2 less meetings during the summer months to report upon.
